SPARK NOTES* - Abridged Media Goodies from Spark Media Solutions

Bad Malware, Bad, Really Bad

What’s the worst malware you’ve ever seen?
For the eighth year in a row, Spark Media Solutions attended the RSA Conference in San Francisco to conduct inappropriate interviews regarding security. In the past, we’ve asked attendees for their password and asked them for tips on how to break into their network. This year, while reporting for Cylance, I asked conference attendees “What’s the worst malware you’ve ever seen?”

Watch the video to see why I affectionately call RSA the “Scare the Crap Out of Me” festival. And stay until the end of the video, as that last story truly is the worst malware story I’ve ever heard, and probably the worst you’ve ever heard as well.
WATCH and Be Scared. Very Scared.

Video Marketing

Internet killed the video store?
Video in an email increases click through rate (CTR) 2 to 3 times

Also consider putting in animated GIFs in your emails. Email marketing service Campaign Monitor conducted an A/B test and discovered that the email with the animated GIF had a 26 percent higher CTR.

Using the word "video" in an email increases open rate by 19 percent

This is a statistic that will probably be temporary given that video will become more and more ubiquitous. Producing video is becoming a capability that more and more people can do.

After seeing a product or service in a video, half of executives look for more information

Most marketing videos are not designed to give you all the answers. Conversely, "how to" videos are designed to give you all the answers to a specific topic. Either way you end up producing the video, it will either deliver the answer and satisfy the viewer or it will entice them to learn more. That's assuming you produce the video correctly and deliver a call to action.
