With Special Guests Rick Wormeli, Heather Wolpert-Gawron, and Elizabeth Stein
Moderated by Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach

We hope you'll be able to attend our 90-minute webinar later today. We're saving a seat for you! We promise an engaging, collaborative experience.

We will use the Blackboard Collaborate/Elluminate Live webinar platform. Below you'll find all the information you need to participate.

You can find out more about our presenters at our MiddleWeb webinar page, where we're also posting any slides, handouts, and links they've asked us to share. After we've completed the live event, we'll also post a link to our archive on this same page.

How do you access the webinar?

Just follow these simple steps . . .

Start early
At least an hour before the webinar begins, go through the process of entering our Blackboard/Elluminate space. The room is open, so you can try now if you like.

Use a laptop or desktop computer to participate
We do not recommend using a smartphone for this event. Because Apple iPads do not support Flash software, you should also avoid them. Some other tablets might work. Your best bet is to arrange to use a desktop or laptop or netbook computer.
Is your computer software up-to-date?
You might need to upgrade software on your own computer (like Java Flash). Use this Blackboard/Elluminate tool to see if your machine has the latest versions necessary. We highly recommend you do this at least an hour before the webinar begins.
(Click on Elluminate Live under First-Time Users)
Why do we use a platform that requires a software download and upgrading? Because Elluminate is worth it. it's an all-in-one platform... audio, video, instant chat, audience participation tools, etc. It's a great collaboration environment.

Once you're sure your software is ready to go:
Click this link to join the session:

When you visit the Blackboard/Elluminate website via this Web link, you'll be asked for your name. There will be a pause as a small amount of special software is downloaded to your machine. This is generally a quick and painless process. Your computer may warn you that a download from the Web is being requested. It's perfectly safe to OK the download.
If you'd like to be able to talk during the session:
We recommend a headset with mic to give you the best sound and prevent audio feedback. If you want to use the audio function to ask questions or comment, do this once you enter the room:
In the menu bar at the top of your screen, click on the Tools pulldown menu and select Audio / Audio Setup Wizard.

The wizard will walk you through the steps to maximize your audio experience (and ours, as we listen to you).
That's it!
Be sure to enter the space by 3 p.m. Eastern on July 30. Make adjustments for your time zone if necessary. We'll greet you there, offer any help you need, and Sheryl will begin by introducing the tools.
Should a problem arise the day of the session, and you simply can't resolve it, call (757-965-4451) or email for help.
