Today is Palm Sunday! Can you believe it? Maybe for you, it seems surreal as well. I’m used to preparing for church. I’m usually thinking about the song “Hosanna” - save us now! Kids usually create some type of palm branches to wave and reenact Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The final week of Jesus’ ministry pre-resurrection.

This year feels different. I feel the loss of our usual traditions. But in the last couple of days of mourning missing my Easter traditions, I realized something. God is not thrown by this. Not one bit!! He knew COVID-19 would derail our Easter plans before the creation of the world! His plans are not diverted, thwarted, or redirected. No! This is and has been His plan from the beginning. If that is the case, what is my role in His plan? What is His intention for this Easter?

This Easter, we will not be in a traditional brick and mortar church, whether under steeple, in a school or warehouse. Easter will be celebrated in our homes or at hospitals, in grocery stores or in a delivery truck. Yes, it will feel very different.

So this week, we’d like to invite you to a week of anticipation. Will you join us in anticipating the meaning of God’s plan for this Easter? Will you seek the Lord with us and ask what He may have in store for us as we celebrate Easter from home? What can we do to engage neighbors in our celebration? Did God want us to celebrate so others could see... no longer confined to churches?

This week, we will be providing daily reminders of where Jesus walked and what He did 2000 years ago leading up to the resurrection. There will be scripture to contemplate. We will also have some challenges for you to consider. Either a fast from something or an action step to do something. We would love for this process to help us all anticipate our Lord and the hope of His return, to remember His sacrifice and contemplate His love and teaching. We want to remember and turn our hearts to gaze on Jesus this week.

Time for honesty. We miss you terribly, especially the hospitable people on our Coffee Bar Team. So we came up with an idea. Healthy and sanitized Team Members will be out on Thursdays delivering coffee and "Kinship" orders to within a 10-mile radius of LCC. We'll be delivering between 11am-2pm and 6-8pm. Let us know in the shipping comments which timeframe you prefer. You can also send coffee to a friend! Just add their address as the delivery address.
