The Mendel Center

Getting to Know Our Members

The Mendel Center

Location: On the campus of Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, MI

Mission Statement: Consistently presenting high-quality performances and events that inspire life-long learning and community connections.

Programming: Our Mainstage brochure season consists of 15 professional touring acts – a mix of music, comedy, dance, magic, theatre, children’s programming, and more. We also present the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan Speakers Series, which features a lineup of 4-6 leaders from the realms of politics, business, current events, and popular culture. The Mendel Center also hosts dozens of performances and events presented by the Lake Michigan College academic performing arts department and other community organizations.

Looking to collaborate/route programming? Always! We have a couple performances in the 2018-19 season that will be block-booked with other Michigan and Ohio presenters, and we’re open to more of these collaborations in the future.

Abot the Mendel Center:

The Mendel Center is the largest venue in the area for performances, business meetings, weddings, and other events. The building features the 1,559-seat Mainstage Theatre, 250-seat Hanson Theatre, Grand Upton Hall with a capacity of up to 1,600, and an additional 10,000 square feet of event space. This year marks the 26th season of Mainstage programming.

Mike Nadolski, Executive Director, Mendel Center
MI Presenters VP and the coordinator for MI Presenters’ block booking efforts.
