New Collaboration Highlights OC's 2012 Strategy

OC and OuTrop Join Forces

Just last month we told you about our support for the new drone technology project, and we're not slowing down in April.

OC is pleased to announce a new collaborative venture with the long-running Orangutan Tropical Peatland Project "OuTrop."

With the future of Indonesia's orangutans now more uncertain than ever before, the Orangutan Conservancy is seeking joint ventures with like-minded organizations.  We know that the power to create positive change comes in numbers and we will do all we can to associate with in situ projects like OuTrop that share our vision for a safe and protected forest system where orangutans and all wildlife thrive.

“We are truly pleased to announce our new collaboration with the Orangutan Tropical Peatland Project,” said OC President Norm Rosen.  “OuTrop’s ongoing work in Central Kalimantan benefits all wildlife in the Sabangau Forest.  Their dedication to the flagship species of Indonesia aligns perfectly with Orangutan Conservancy’s mission, and we believe this new association will help both of our organizations to better achieve our conservation goals for the benefit of orangutans.”

You can read about OuTrop's terrific work on our newly designed OuTrop page on the OC website.

Must See Videos...

We'd like to invite you to watch two short videos that showcases two of our projects.  The first is just in from Serge Wich's and Lian Pin Koh's drone project and highlights the extraordinary aerial capability of this flying conservation tool.  The second, is a brief visual highlight reel from this past summer's OC/OVAG Veterinarian Workshop.  We've just announced the 2012 workshop to be held in Malaysia this July.  The video will show you the type of important work done at these healthcare worker gatherings.
