HideAway Haven
Only 1 week to Christmas.  HideAway Haven has been really busy this past month and we are gearing up for a very busy Christmas/New Year season.  We welcomed Guy and Rowena from South Africa back to Hideaway Haven.  They first visited us just after we opened up in December 2008 and it was with great excitement that we welcomed them again in December 2010.  We were happy they could have the place to themselves as they met with our architect David from HHArcitects to design their new home in Albany.  It was awesome that they wanted to take care of us for a night and took us to Lime 303 for dinner.  Food and service was awesome once again.  We can certainly recommend that you dine there while you enjoy your stay in Albany.

We have had a discussion lately about what makes the perfect location.  We consistently get 5 star ratings for rooms, cleanliness, value, service and sleep quality...but location seems to rate only a 4.  We are a 30 minute walk from the beach, 10 mins by car from the centre of town, end of a quiet cul de sac with awesome views over the Kalgan River.  We took a walk today to show you our location.  It was a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and a gentle breeze.  We had lunch at the Emu Point Cafe (We looked at their breakfast menu and what is included in the price at HideAwayHaven would cost you $80.00 at the cafe) ) and were awestruck by the Western Australian Christmas Tree.  Nuytsia floribunda is well known in Southwest Australia, where it is named the Christmas tree, the common name outside of this region is Western Australian Christmas tree. The appearance of abundant flowers in summer is a spectacular display especially with a backdrop of our blue skies.  We passed a Horse Farm and were welcomed by some gorgeous friendly horses.  You won't experience any of of this in any other location.   Check out my Sunday Walk

We would like to thank all of our guests for making 2010 a very successful year.

We really enjoyed Hideaway Haven! The hosts were wonderful - they seem to really enjoy what they do which is make everything as comfortable as possible for their guests. And yet they still left us alone as much as we wanted. I loved that the guest area was completely separate from the main house which gave us a lot of privacy. You can keep completely to yourselves in your room with a beautiful balcony and tv or you can hang out in the shared area where there is a kitchen and bbq which we took advantage of. Also, the breakfasts were amazing!

We stayed at HideAway Haven during our short break in WA and it was the best B&B during the trip. I wish we had been able to stay for longer. The attention to detail was excellent and everything was new and very clean. The Breakfast was wonderful, very filling and very tasty. We had dinner at the Wild Duck a local restaurant which was recommended and this was also excellent. If we get to Albany again HideAway will be the first B&B that we book.    Thank you Becki & Maggie for a short but great stay.

We are looking forward to our Christmas guests and have an awesome Christmas Menu planned.
Scambled Eggs with Chives, Balsamic cherries with leg ham, blueberry friands and mango with yoghurt and almond praline. Drinks will be pineapple and mint frappe and iced espresso.

In January we are hosts to a newly wed couple celebrating their honeymoon courtesy of their Aunt.  A couple from Britain here for their daughters wedding. Another couple from Britain for a special birthday.  It's going to be a busy time and we hope that everyone will enjoy an exceptional stay with us.  Please remember if you have special dietary request, let us know in advance so we can cater for you.
