|Just 5 more sleeps till Becki & I leave for our trip to Holland. I will be walking my daughter Joslyn down the aisle as she marries Joery, the man of her dreams.
Last week we were proud sponsors of a Quiz Night which raised $19,200 for the Greyman Project which is an international organisation based in Australia dedicated to eradicating the trafficking and exploitation of children. It was a fun night with amazing prizes.
On Monday we went on our very first Whale Watching Tour on Sail-a-Way. Sadly we didn't see any whales close up, though they were out there. Unfortunately Orcas have been in our waters and we think the whales were keeping a low profile. The experience was exhilarating and we got to see the coast from a different angle. We will try again in a couple of months. John Woodbury believes - Its not what you see when you are out on the water, it's what you feel during the experience...and that is what he delivers.
The whales are out there. We will try again next month.
ALBANY'S popular Emu Point has been declared Western Australia's cleanest beach and Shelley Beach won the environmental protection award. Just two of the many gorgeous beaches in Albany.
Last weekend was a quiet weekend so we thought we would climb Castle Rock and take some photos for our new marketing campaign "Are you in the mood?" If you are on facebook please click on the link and like our page. Lots of photos of our beautiful Albany.
Castle Rock is a tourist attraction in the Porongurup Range in the Great Southern region of Western Australia and is renowned for its fauna and flora.
There is a walk trail to the summit which offers 360 degree views, 570 metres above sea level. The walk also takes in the unusual 'Balancing Rock', a six metre high granite boulder which reportedly weighs around 186 tonnes yet rests on a base just 1.21 square metres.
A winery located on the eastern slopes of the range is named after this landmark. It was a really windy day so we didn't quite make it to the top. An excuse to go back and try again.
A new restaurant has opened in Denmark, just 50km out of Albany, 'Healthy Buddha Bar' . What a gorgeous place. Service is friendly and cheerful, atmosphere was just fantastic, very eclectic. Food was delicious and nicely presented. Will definately be returning again.
