HideAway Haven
Only 10 days till we know if we made the finals list of the WA Tourism Awards.  This is the first time we have entered these awards and it was a mammoth task with 30 pages of text, tables, graphs and photos to showcase our business and how we promote tourism in Albany.  What we love about these awards compared to other awards we have entered, is that they look at our web site, our Facebook page, Trip Advisor reviews and other activities we are involved in that relate to tourism, such as our Albany Region and 'Are you in the mood?' pages.  So pop along to these pages and see what is happening in Albany.  If you have been a guest and have some photos of Albany you would like to share please do so on our Albany Region Page.  If you are on Facebook, check out our pages, give them the thumbs up (like) and enjoy the photos and information.

Beyond Organic - Eggs from Shipley's Farm

Shipleys have the same passion for what they do as we do and they love, respect and appreciate their animals the way we do. That is why we are now using their eggs exclusively for our guests.  Have you ever seen a lemon cake this yellow?

Their eggs are TRUE Free Range.  Shipley's laying hens mimic the natural behaviour of birds in the wild. They are safely housed at night in eggmobiles and during the day they are free to roam and have fun in the open fresh pasture and forage for the insects that are stirred up by the cows who passed through recently.  This gives them a collection of nutrients as they happily scratch and peck their way through a real free range environment.

Now our guests can enjoy their poached or scrambled eggs knowing the hens who supplied their eggs for breakfast are happy hens.

Asparagus Season is Back!!

We love our asparagus, fresh from the markets every Saturday morning.  Last week I made rosti potatoes, topped it with ham, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce and served it with fresh asparagus....yummy.  Special breakfasts on a Sunday morning at HideAway Haven.

Albany Region Competition

We have been running a competition on our new Facebook page for Albany's best beaches.  This photo has the most likes at the moment.  Its not to late to get your photo in or to vote for your favourite.

Photo Courtesy of Ben Reynolds Photographer  Thank you to all our photographers...some amazing photos.  The top 10 will be listed on our new Albany Region Web Page.

Heidi Bear

Most of you will have met our Heidi Bear.  She was carved from the stump of a Red Gum Tree that needed to be taken down.  Unfortunately the same disease hit our Heidi and she needed to be removed from her spot welcoming her guests.  We visited Darrel Radcliffe who had originally carved her with his chainsaw.  He had another bear who we fell in love with and we had her put in position. She is gorgeous and we are loving our photos with our guests.

Exciting News

The HideAway Infusion package with Dan Infusion Sharp is back!! Book now while there is so many beautiful spring produce in the markets...your chance to have your own private chef, fine dining and 5* accommodation.  Check out our video and web page to see how special this package is.

RUSSIAN NATIONAL BALLET SWAN LAKE Friday 8 & Saturday 9 November at 7.30pm THE NUTCRACKER Sunday 10 November at 2.30pm Presented by XDR (Australia) Cultural Promotion The Russian National Ballet presents beautiful, full length performances of two of the most cherished classical ballets of all time - Swan Lake and The Nutcracker. Directed by Evgeny Amosov and accompanied by a huge cast of more than 50 ballet dancers these breathtaking performances are not to be missed. Tchaikovsky’s instantly recognisable music is set against the wonderfully dark story of good against evil in Swan Lake - one of the most famous and loved of all ballets. Swan Lake’s glamorous set is evocative of the Russian Imperial world in which the ballet was created, while the haunting moonlit lakeside is perfect for the tragic conflict of the human and spirit worlds and allows the audience to be swept away in the vulnerability of Odett and Odile. The Nutcracker remains the cornerstone of The Russian National Ballet Theatre’s repertoire. With its fairytale setting and glorious Tchaikovsky score, this version has all the elements of an enduring fairy tale: romance, poetry, fate, good versus evil, and of course, love! Tickets – Standard $87.90 / Concession $77.90 / Children (2 – 12yrs) $67.90 / Student (Full time) $67.90. VIEW Restaurant open for lunch and dinner!
