At the Albany's Farmer Markets we bought some liliums from Florescene so the breakfast trays would look special.
Our guests continue to enjoy the Boatshed Markets
on Sunday's. Today our couple from Sydney bought crayfish, oysters, salad and breads so they can stay in and cook a special Mother's Day dinner in our fully equipped kitchen. Sue and David we hope you had an awesome day today and that your three sons remembered your special day.
Easter was a very busy time at HideAway Haven and in Albany. All accommodation was fully booked out and we were blessed with some very special guests. We did get one day without check ins or outs to spend a few hours out our special beach. No matter how busy Albany is...there is always a quiet beach to be found and enjoyed.
The beach from Mistaken Island to Goode Beach is one of our favourite Beaches. Mistaken Island is a small island located approximately 5 kilometres South East of Albany on the way to Camp Quaranup.
Located in King George Sound the island is located approximately 120 metres from Vancouver Peninsula. In 1971, the island was declared as a class 1A Nature Reserve with a total area of 12 hectares. The area adjacent to the island is used to cultivate mussels on long lines which you can see from the beach. This is also a favourite place for snorkelling and fishing.

Skål is a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. We were invited to one of Albany's Skål monthly meeting's aboard Sail-A-Way a whale watching catamaran. It was a perfect evening, with a very special sailor.
Whale Watching Tours start again in June, 2011 though the whales are already in our waters. John says ... 'Its not what you see when you are out on the water, it's what you feel during the experience'... We will be taking a tour in June and hope to be able to share some photos with you.
Don't miss out on an unforgettable experience. Come down to Albany for a stay at HideAway Haven and enjoy a day or evening out on the water with John and Sail-a-Way. Chances are you will get more than 1 tour while you are here. May & June are the nicest months in Albany with cold nights and warm days and no wind.
We trialled our new fondue set this week.....making cheese fondue is not as easy as throwing some cheese into the pot and waiting for it to melt. There is quite a lot of work involved....but it was certainly well worth it. Yummy!! It tasted really good with a glass of Shiraz.
Becki & I are making plans to travel to The Netherlands in July. My daughter is getting married and we are excited to be part of her special day. We are also thrilled to finally meet some of my cousins and spend time with them. Hope we get to see some of these beautiful tulips.
Just a reminder to all our special guests during Easter -
