Great Southern Business Achiever Award ~ Runner Up
HideAway Haven was runner up in the 2013 ACCI Small Business Centre Great Southern Business Achiever Award at the Business Awards on 22 March, 2013. This award is for outstanding achievement by a business that has used the services of the local Small Business Centre to start or grow their business.
It was a great night with many Albany and The Great Southern region businesses taking home awards. The gala dinner was held at Wignalls Winery in the big white tent by Albany Party Hire, food by Kookas Catering and wine by Wignalls.
How did our local Small Business Centre help us grow our business? Vicki at the Small Business Centre, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in assisting us in the final stages of our Tourism WA Accreditation. They also assisted Maggie to complete her Diploma in Marketing and supported us in documenting our marketing strategy. Thanks so much to the team at the Small Buisness Centre, you are a valuable asset in our business community and we appreciate your support.
We are hoping we can receive this certificate again in 2013, but we need your help. If you have stayed with us, please write a review. Click HERE ♥ ♥ ♥ Thank You.
We have set up a short survey to help us improve our service. Please click HERE to access the survey. It should take no longer than 2 minutes to complete.
In The HideAway Haven Kitchen
With the onset of the cooler weather, we are now serving home-made soup with home-made garlic & herb bread rolls. There’s just something supremely comforting about a big bowl of hot soup and if you have been travelling, arriving tired and hungry, this is the perfect end to the day. Order your soup when making your booking and it will be ready on arrival. Enjoy on your deck or in the dining room with a glass of wine before sinking into your comfortable bed.
Heidi was ready for our guests during Easter, welcoming them on arrival every day.
Now baking our own Brioche and 5 Grain Bread. The smells coming from our kitchen are amazing. We tried some new dishes during the Easter weekend. Brioche French Toast served with poached local pears in honey & cinnamon syrup tasted amazing. As quinoa is a favourite for our gluten free guests, we have perfected this recipe. Blueberry, Apricot & Pistachio tri colour quinoa porridge. (click on photo for recipe)
Easter in Albany
Easter was a very busy time in Albany and also at HideAway Haven. We did however manage to get out for a few hours on Saturday, to visit the 'Festival of the Sea' at the Boatshed Markets and to enjoy the Sculpture in Harbour exhibition. The weather was glorious all weekend and Albany and Denmark was alive with many tourists.
Beaches in Albany ~ Sandpatch
Sandpatch, with its spectacular views of the Southern Ocean, can be found in the Torndirrup National Park ... It is situated 20 minutes drive from Albany and is also a well-known landmark of the Albany Wind Farm. The Bibbulum Track crosses through here. Today a big pod of dolphins were surfing in the decent swell.
