Can't believe we are already at the end of January!! Its been a very busy 6 weeks with a full house most days. We have had a lot of gorgeous guests and some special moments. TreeTop was the location for a marriage proposal. Congratulations Gabrielle & John. Thank you for sharing your special moment with us. Look forward to seeing wedding photos. We also had a couple spend their honeymoon with us. Thank you Brett & Kendall for choosing HideAway Haven to begin your new life together. A family from Belguim walked a section of the Bibbulum Track and enjoyed the comforts of home at HideAway Haven. Grace & Victoria you were such special young guests and we hope that you find your way back to HideAway Haven one day. A family from the UK used HideAway Haven to relax before the busy Christmas days with their family in Perth. Sophie & Thomas are real foodies and they loved our breakfasts, esp the Peach French Toast Simon & Aurea from the UK who had had a rough 2011, arrived tired and haggard and left feeling 10 years younger. We have had guests from Germany, Switzerland, Belguim, England, France, Eastern States and many from Perth. Thank You for staying with us...you have all left footprints on our hearts.
These months are also an awesome opportunity to try out some new recipes. Ham & Cheese French Toast, including a gluten free option, Baked Eggs Florentine and Baked Egg Prisicutto are some regulars that will now be on our breakfast menus. As it is strawberry season, strawberry & cream puffs (strawberries & cream wrapped in golden puff pastry) were a real hit. If you are coming to stay at HideAway Haven and have a special request, please let us know in advance.
We were guests of the manager at 'The Curry Leaf' a new Indian restaurant in Albany We enjoyed the whole experience, from the extensive wine list, fabulous food, meeting the chef and great service. BYO is also an option. There was a wide assortment of dishes and cooking techniques. The food was fresh and flavourful with a huge variety of aromatic Indian Spices. It was not fatty or loaded with floury sauces and all dishes are gluten free. Great vegetarian options available.
Joop Thai is another one of our favourites. Our guests love it as well. Serves are generous, no corkage charge and they supply doggy bags for left overs.
We continue to cook Italian dinners on request. Our entree is Heirloom Tomato Stack drizzled with basil oil...with fresh tomato's and basil from the markets this is fresh and delicious. We love trying new dishes and enjoying cooking just for us. We will continue blogging some of our recipes. Last night it was roast tomatoes stuffed with Italian Risotto. Our New Years Eve dinner was prawns and marron on the BBQ.
We finally managed to co ordinate a time with Hannah from Everlasting Images for the Photo Shoot we won last year at Valentines Day. It was a magic evening at Little Beach...our favourite beach. We had so much fun, playing in the sand and water and Hannah was awesome to work with. Check out the link for more photos.
We have also added some new pages to our webpage ~ activities, beaches and history in Albany...check them out. New information will be added regularly.
Thanks to Mi Nouche...a recent guest...for this photo
This is just a short note to let you all know we are still here and what we have been up to.....
