Mid North Coast Bushfires
The last few weeks has been a particularly distressing time for many of us in the Mid North Coast region. These catastrophic bushfires have claimed many lives, homes and natural habitats - and we would like to acknowledge those who have been tragically affected. We would also like to pay tribute to our tireless emergency services, and particularly our firefighters, for the work they do to keep our communities safe.

Amidst all the despair, we have also seen our communities grow stronger together, through acts of kindness, generosity and creativity. People sharing stories and food, making face masks and koala mittens, writing songs and poetry, playing benefit gigs to soothe and fundraise for our firies and injured wildlife. This is the true heart of our creative coast community.

Meet Monica Davidson
from Creative Plus Business!

We are thrilled to be hosting two workshops by the Doyenne of Creative Business - Monica Davidson - this coming Saturday 30 November, at the Kempsey RSL

Monica will be presenting her 'Top Ten Tips for Creatives' uncovering the ten worst ‘pain points’ on the road to a successful creative business. This morning workshop gives practical guidance on how to manoeuvre past the pain and continue towards a successful creative business.

The afternoon session covers Marketing Strategies for Creatives - a fun and practical workshop exploring the mystery behind the marketing magic: devising strategy, making measurements and meeting goals.

"These workshops are ideal for anyone struggling with the business aspects of their creativity, no matter what your profession – filmmakers, writers, designers, visual artists, musicians, composers, dancers, performers – everyone can benefit," said Monica.

Workshops are delivered in a fun, relaxed and informal setting, plus you get access to a a ton of resources and four x 1 hour chat sessions afterwards! Limited spaces are still available, make your bookings through the link below.

Artstate Tamworth Wrap

Our Projects Manager travelled to the recent Artstate Conference, held in Tamworth. The event brought together artists, cultural workers and leaders from across NSW for four exciting days of inspiring art and in-depth conversation about issues that face the arts industry and regional communities more broadly.

Keynote speakers and panellists discussed the themes, “On Country – In Country” and “Arts in the Age of Uncertainty”, sharing their views and experiences on how artists remain connected to their land and culture whilst weathering the constant changes of the industry.

Artstate is a four-year project by Regional Arts NSW that shines a light on excellence in regional arts practice, and explores exciting possibilities for arts and cultural development across the state. Full transcripts and program overviews are available from the Artstate website.
