Cochrane Oral Health Group

COHG 2010 impact factor ranks Group in world's top 3 dentistry journals

We had some great news at COHG's editorial base this month when we found out that Cochrane Oral Health Group’s impact factor for 2010 has risen by 14% to 3.600.
This puts the Group in the top three of dentistry journals in the world, behind the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and the Journal of Dental Research.
The impact factor is a tool for ranking, evaluating, and comparing journals. It is a measure of the frequency with which the “average article” in a journal has been cited in a particular year.

On average we currently publish 15 new reviews or review updates per year; additional funding from the GA allows the group to increase this to 20 reviews per year, ensuring that priority reviews are conducted and updated in a timely manner.
Funds are provided by GA members via a scheme where oral health groups contribute what they can afford. In essence, the GA ensures that reviews are completed quickly and efficiently to a high quality standard.
If your organisation would be interested in getting involved, please contact Anne Littlewood for further information.
