The Regulator has launched an investigation into an incident in which a teenager was seriously injured at a quarry near Tamworth.

The 3 teenagers, riding an ATV, gained access to Mills Gravel Quarry on the afternoon of Saturday 29 October.

The ATV rolled on an embankment. One of the occupants is believed to have suffered serious internal injuries and the 2 others minor injuries.

The Regulator’s investigation into the cause and circumstances of the incident will explore the arrangements for access and security of the quarry, and whether these presented risks to health and safety.

A report will be published once the investigation is concluded.
