2017 Requirement to hold first aid and emergency preparedness competencies


To be granted a certificate of competence to perform a statutory function a person is required to undergo examinations to assess a person’s competence.
 
Applications for certificates of competence require a person to submit evidence of holding applicable competencies in order to be approved to undertake the assessment for a certificate of competence.
 
A table of mandatory competency units to be held by applicants’ for certificate of competence in 2017 has been developed and endorsed by the Mining and Petroleum Competence Board and approved by the Department of Industry.
 
The table consisting of first aid and emergency preparedness units from national training packages listed for each certificate of competence can be found on the website.
 
Applicants for a certificate of competence are required to hold the mandatory competency units listed in the table and evidence them at the time of application for a certificate of competence to be granted from 1 July 2017.
