August event rescheduled 

Due to the ongoing threat of COVID-19 in NSW, we have rescheduled our Mechanical Engineering Safety Seminar to Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 October 2021. The venue, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, remains unchanged.

If you have already purchased tickets to attend the seminar your tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates. However, if you are unable to attend in October please email to request a refund.

The safety of mine sites and regional communities across NSW is our utmost priority. The seminar has been rescheduled to avoid any potential risk of spreading the disease to our regional communities.

COVID-19 update 

We are aware of the impacts that restrictions are having on some mining operations. Our priority safety inspections are continuing at mine sites, in accordance with our COVID-19 risk procedures and the controls prescribed in public health orders.
We will continue to respond to serious incidents in all locations. For further information please refer to our COVID-19 web page.
Questions regarding compliance with the Public Health Orders should be directed to ServiceNSW (13 77 88) in the first instance.

Reminder: Work health and safety reports due 

A reminder to all mine operators that meet the criteria for submitting work health and safety (WHS) reports, submissions must be completed by 31 July 2021 via the Regulator Portal.

COVID-19 impacts on Certificate of Competence exams

Due to the changing COVID-19 situation in NSW, some Certificate of Competence examinations have been rescheduled for people living or working in areas impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.
We will provide ongoing updates to people who have been impacted by these changes. You can also refer to our website, where updates are published as they become available.

National Return to Work Strategy scorecard report now available 

Safe Work Australia has published a report on their progress in the first year of the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030.

The key achievements and score card report captures baseline national measures based on the measurement framework.

National Safe Work Month 2021 - campaign kit available 

Safe Work Australia has released the theme and campaign kit for National Safe Work Month ahead of the official campaign launch on 1 October 2021.

The theme for 2021 is think safe. work safe. be safe. which encourages everyone to take responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.
