We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic presenters for the 30^th Annual Mechanical Engineering Safety Seminar to be held on 11 and 12 August 2021.
The submission deadline for presenter applications is 9 April 2021. Note: If you submitted an expression of interest for 2020, please complete a new application.

New Technical Reference Guide

We have published a new Technical Reference Guide (TRG) which provides mine operators with guidance on developing and documenting a principal hazard management plan for spontaneous combustion in underground coal mining operations.

This TRG supersedes MDG 1006 Spontaneous Combustion Management Guideline and MDG 1006TR Technical Reference for Spontaneous Combustion Management Guideline.

Have your say on how we can improve our website

We are currently undertaking a project to improve our website. In this early phase of the project we are seeking feedback from our website users via a short anonymous survey to let us know what is and isn't working, and to gather your ideas for improvements.

Updates to lead risk work notifications

To reflect legislation changes regarding lead risk work, we have updated relevant information and resources on our website. 'Lead risk work' involves working with lead in a process that is likely to cause lead levels in a worker's blood to exceed healthy limits.

Evaluation of MSAC dust safety awareness campaign released

A report has been published detailing the results of our evaluation of the Dust Safety Awareness campaign 'Take action to prevent dust disease' that we ran in collaboration with the Mine Safety Advisory Council in July 2020.
