live through your senses.
How’s everything by you? Last week I was a little derailed by loosing my voice for a few days. Now you know me, the show went on. I powered through by using my voice in a whisper, kind of ASMR style. It was very interesting because I noticed that people were more engaged with me and even responded with more kindness. Now I’m not saying to go through the world whispering at folks, but remember that the way you speak to others is how they respond to you. As they say, you can catch more bees with honey. Add a little honey to your voice, it’s magick for seducing your way through life. Try it sometimes. Blessed be.
Cinco de Mayo has passed that doesn’t mean that we should toss the margarita aside, especially since it’s perfect for spring and the summer solstice. I shared two of my margarita recipes for the holiday. One is my go to rita after a long day and tequila is on my mind. The other recipe was inspired by my spirit animal, Frida Kahlo. It’s more of a luxury rita than a classic one. I use reposado tequila which has a little depth than blanco tequila. The ingredient that may surprise you is the Hennessy Black. I added it because it adds an addition layer to the drink. Kahlo loved flowers and Henny Black has a touch of floral in the Cognac.
The recipe for La Vida Frida is below. If you want what I call my Home Bar Margarita recipe, get it on A Witch And The World, right here.
La Vida Frida
1 ½ oz. Olmeca Altos Reposado Tequila
1 oz. Grand Marnier
1 oz. Fresh lime juice
½ Simple syrup
Dash of Hennessy Black
1. Salt the rim of a chilled coupe glass.
2. Combine the tequila, lime juice, simple syrup, and Grand Marnier in a shaker filled with ice. Shake it so everything becomes on happy family, then strain into the chilled coupe glass. Add a dash of Hennessy Black on top. Feel the spirit of Frida come through.
