Senses & Sensibility: Love & Rosé

February is the month of love. There tends to be quite a bit of attention paid to Champagne, but I want to throw in a plot twist. Instead of bubbles as your go to wine for the month, how about rosé ? The pink wine is quite versatile. It’s a good option when you want to kick it casual or when you want to be fine and dandy.

Rosé is produced in many wine regions, but the motherland is Provence. The wine  has been produced in Provence since the Greeks planted the first vines 2,600 years ago, making it the oldest wine region in France. Rosé seemed like a trend, it’s clear that the wine remains a popular choice.

While a provencal rosé has a certain style, you will find that they have their own  character. There is something pink to drink for every one of your moods. Go simple for  when you Netflix and chill. but a complex rosé would pair perfect with dinner.

  1. Château Berne Romance Rosé 2019 –  This wine comes from a winery also known for their 5 hotel known as The Château, They make stellar rosé  which is displayed in artistic bottles. This light pink has notes of citrus and red fruit.  Romance in a glass, sounds like it’s meant to be.
  1. Domaine de La Croix Cuvée Irrésistible Cru Classé 2019– When you can’t make it to the Riviera, you can get it in your glass with this rosé . A touch of spice on the palate with perfumed notes of fruit and flowers.
  1. Château d’Esclans Rock Angel Rosé 2019 – While everyone talks about Whispering Angel, maybe you should give Rock Angel some love.. It brings in the flare of Whispering Angel with a touch more complexity and elegance. Long story short, it’s a very sensuous wine.
  1. Château Real Martin Perle de Rosé 2019 – A great light with a beautiful color with fruity nose and a touch of blood orange. Sipping this one will make you feel like you are in the  Mediterranean basking in the sunshine.

There is no reason to wait until the summer to rosé  all day when there are so many great options. Since Galentine’s Day is coming up, get your squad together on HouseParty or GoogleMeet for a rosé  pajama party. Everybody gets a bottle of rosé so they can share what they love about it as well as what snacks are their perfect pairing. What a great way to spend a lazy Sunday and get together with your girls.

Last but not least, in the interest of love, get some roses and a bottle of  rosé  for a bit of “me time”. As the scent of flowers fills the air and you sip away, write yourself a love letter in your journal, The power of self-love leads to your best life. Santé!

the love of beauty & art

* J.Lo has come out with a skincare line. Will you be trying it or have you tried ? The line has been dragged a bit. While there are beauty vloggers who rave about the line and declare they are throwing out their Le Mer (which I doubt, cause that stuff ain’t cheap), the comments and other reviews have been less stellar for the line. As someone pointed out why use the line, it’s not how Jenny from the Block actually got her good skin, what was she using before besides olive oil. The line is also not cheap and produced by Guthy-Renker (you know..the peeps with all those infomercials). Let’s just say, Rihanna doesn’t have anything to worry about.

* There are couples that love to get their dandy one when they step out. The older couple, Britt Kanja and Günther Krabbenhöft, in Berlin are known for their fashion statements. They are active on the social scene and went viral a few years ago. They look like works of art. Kinda makes you want to step up your fashion game.

Bon Vivant
the love of good food & libations

* Who doesn’t love Mac & Cheese? It’s the ultimate comfort food. For Valentine’s Day, Kraft is unleashing a pink mac and cheese that tastes like… candy. Yep, you read correctly, candy. Basically, a pink candy powder comes in the kit to mix in with the cheesy mixture. This is a big hmmm for me. Mixing flavors is a good thing, but this is the makings of a hot mess or maybe the best mac and cheese ever. If you take one for the team and try it. Report back.

* Peanut butter is the jam. Great for sandwiches, candy, cookies, you name it. There are many options when it comes to peanut butter. Personally. I’m a big fan of the crunchy, especially on a warm cinnamon roll.  Well, 77 peanut butters were ranked in a blind taste test, find out which ones made the top ten. Skippy Extra Crunchy was number 1, who would have guessed?

Cash & crypto, feel good about your money

* GameStop was all the rage and caused an uproar on Wall Street. Some folks came out millionaires or billionaires. Did you get in the game? There’s a quirky dude from YouTube that goes by Roaring Kitty who came out a winner. He’s now a millionaire after putting in $54,000. He says he’s now worth $48 million bucks.  Wonder if he’s single? Just sayin…

* Robinhood pissed people off by cutting off trades to Gamestop, AMC, etc. They also announced they are stopping crypto transactions. I’m no financial advisor, but if you are gonna get crypto, Robinhood is not a good way to go. It’s recommended to go with a trust cryptocurrency provider. I’m with a few and one of my faves is Gemini by the Winklevoss twins. You know those twins who created Facebook with Zuckerberg and were some of the first bitcoin billionaires. Gemini is a licensed state trust and crypto is insured. BOOM! To sign up pop on my invite link.> Join
