Can you believe July is almost over. Summer is flying by and we will be hitting Autumn in no time. At this point, everyone is trying to get back to normal...who knows what that looks like anymore. Basically we all need to figure out how to get our groove back in our own way.

As you know I’m working on some culinary crime fiction. It's coming soon. Also working on a new sipping series called “Sippin’ with Shakespeare”. I’ll be doing it on various platforms. Think of it as a roving sipping series. I’ll be launching it in August so be on the lookout if you are into bard and booze. Last but not least, I’m working on a solo show about wine. I guess I would say I'm "creatively quarantining".

Long story short, find ways to be creative or do things that will keep you in a positive state of mind. You never know where it will lead you. If you have a new hustle, drop me a line and let me know about it.

Stay safe. Be well. Drink wine. And most of all keep on living life through your senses.

A robot that brings rosé? Bring it on. Hotel Trio in California (part of the Marriot family) is bringing you pink at a distance. In fact this robot brings your wine right to your door. How very Sonoma County! It can also bring you snacks. How do I get one of these for my apartment? Fear not the robot is sanitized after every use. 

Pillsbury is out here changing lives with their new cornbread swirls. Yes, you read correctly!  I don't know about you, but I can eat cornbread morning, noon, and night. The southern swirls come in circular packaging like their cinnamon rolls. They are an easy way to make fresh cornbread without the mess. Imagine them slathered with butter. Yummy!

Gatorade isn’t really my jam, but I may have to give it another least once. Serena Williams just recently dropped a new Gatorade bottle as part of the Gatorade's Gx customizable hydration line. It’s a limited edition bottle so if you see it grab one, it will be gone before you know it.

KFC is going to start selling plant-based chicken made with Beyond Meat...hmmm. Sounds like a hot mess to me, but then again this may be a big hit. They are testing the faux chicken in select cities to see if they want to roll it out nationally. The best thing about chicken from KFC is the skin so not sure if this plant based business is gonna work. If all else fails you can get the new KFC crocs, so wrong yet so right.

Witch On Wine:
get into the magick of wine

Mary J. Blige recently dropped a new collection of  limited edition wines in partnership with Fantinel Winery called Sun Goddess produced in the  Friuli Venezia Giulia region. It’s been said that  Mary is a big fan of white wine, especially Pinot Grigio. There are two wines to choose from a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio Ramato. Some people get celebrity wine cause it makes them feel like they have a  them a relationship with a celeb while others run like hell from celebrity brands. If Mary J. is your girl, then why not try the wines. I was sent the wines as a gift. The only one I’ve opened is the Sauvignon Blanc and I enjoyed it. It’s easy to sip especially while watching something on Lifetime.
It’s been said that the French wine market has collapsed due to a combo of the ‘rona and US tariffs put into place. There’s a chance  that the wine industry will suffer some more due to looming new tariffs on EU wines, and spirits. American wineries can’t pick up the slack for wines plus so many people in the wine biz the in US would lose their jobs. The whole thing is a mess and could cause wine lovers in the US to have to pay more for wine from some of our favorite regions. Cross your fingers, this has been one bumpy ride.
the oh la la of the perfect drink..

During the quarantine I’ve been missing certain foods, one of them was barbecue. I made the decision to try the ribs that FreshDirect is peddling. The delicious ribs were made Kansas City style all poppin’ with barbecue sauce. To pair with the ribs, I made a  Lynchburg Lemonade. If you’ve never had it, think of it as a “hot girl summer” in a glass. It’s such a yummy cocktail. Normally it’s made with Jack Daniel’s, it’s a signature recipe for them. I went another route and went with Angel’s Envy Bourbon. Whatever bourbon makes you happy is the righ choice.
