Happy 2020! I hope you have come into this new year ready to do you. Remember that it’s always your year, month, week, or moment. You never have to wait for January to declare “new year, new me". That is an energy that’s available to you at all times. Never forget it.
Many of you have made resolutions list. As you know, that's not my jam. Did you know that only about 8% of people achieve their resolutions. It’s a word that many just don’t respond to. Do yourself a favor and let it go. Make a vision board instead or a Do, Be, Have List. Where there’s a will, there’s away.
I have some things I definitely want to achieve during the year. Going back to fiction writing is one of them. I’ll be writing about witches, killers, booze, and magick. All of my favorite things. In other words, I’m stepping back into the entertainment world a little bit for some creative adventures. Those are the highlights.
I wish you the best with your plans, goals and dreams. If there’s any way that I can assist, reach out.
Pop Witch: As you know celebrities love getting into the wine & spirits game. There's a new celeb wine on the block. Invivo X by Sarah Jessica Parker has finally dropped. News on the street is that it's pretty good. The Sauvignon Blanc is produced in New Zealand by the guys at Invino. Parker was in on designing the bottle, which I think shows. It's a smooth looking label. I was sent two bottles to sample so I'll be able to try for myself. The vino is totally affordable at around $18.99.
The ridiculously binge-worthy show, YOU, is back with season 2 on Netflix. What I know for sure is that it’s just as creepy as season 1 and I really want to give Penn Badgely (Joe Goldberg) a sandwich. They say the camera adds some pounds, I want to fatten him up a bit. Definitely check out the show, it will leave you shook. We know that season 3 of You is already in the works and we're here for all of it.
When January hits, it’s officially award season. First up is the Golden Globes which is happening this Sunday. Some have said that Jennifer Lopez is a lock for being Best Supporting Actress in Hustlers. Now J.Lo was good, but don’t sleep Laura Dern in Marriage Story. She has continuously been a badass in her last few roles. Plus she is of Hollywood lineage. She could come through in the clutch. What we do know is Lady Lopez will look fabulous with A-Rod propped up right behind her with his “thrilled just to be invited” smile.
Witch On Wine: In case you haven’t heard, wine from Europe may go up 100% due to looming tariffs in the US. That means your favorite $15 dollar bottle of French wine could go up to $30. It has the wine industry ready for battle. If the tariffs happen, it has all the makings of job loss, higher prices on wine, and so much more. Make sure you keep your eyes and ears open on this.
Dry January is here. This time of year is when it’s real slow for the bar industry. Some bars have gotten with the program and added mocktails to their menus at the beginning of each year. The U.K. wants no part of this and has a movement to get rid of all this dry business. Instead, they want people to do Tryanuary, a campaign to try new bars and lounges as one practices moderation versus going dry in January. The campaign was launched in 2015 and run by volunteers. I think it’s an interesting concept. With so many bars/restaurants trying to stay in business, this could be a great way to go.
