Did you know that up to four pipe organs are lost every week in the UK? With the closure of a church, the organ is often dismantled in pieces. In some cases they can even be dumped in a landfill. Pipe Up for Pipe Organs is a new organisation that seeks to put an end to this situation by rescuing threatened organs, offering grants and advice to local organisations and promoting the whole culture associated with this instrument. RELIGIOUS HERITAGE INNOVATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD: WINNER AND FINALISTS ANNOUNCED!
The selection was not an easy task for our jury, but finally, we are proud to present the 2022 winner and the four finalists of the Religious Heritage Innovator of the Year. The winner of this 1st edition is Orgel Kids, an educational project of the Stichting Kerkmuziek Netwerk that has already introduced hundreds of children around the world to pipe organ culture. The four finalists are the Ambulance for Monuments by Asociatia Monumentum (Romania), Peregrino Lebaniego Digital 4.0 by Zwit Project. Territorio Rural Inteligente (Spain), The School Church by Groninger Kerken (The Netherlands) and Jewish Virtual Tourism by Jewish Majorca (Spain). NEW CULTURE FOR HEALTH REPORT STRESSES HOW HERITAGE CONTRIBUTES TO HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The CultureForHealth report analyses the links between culture, health and well-being with the aim of providing policy recommendations to strengthen the collaboration between the health and the cultural sectors. The report has been produced as part of the CultureForHealth project, supported by a consortium of six European organisations.
