Good morning! The Law School community extends our warmest congratulations to our colleague and friend, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, on her nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.  

The Latest News

Notre Dame Law School Professor Barrett nominated to US Supreme Court


Judge Amy Coney Barrett was nominated today to the Supreme Court of the United States to fill the vacancy created by the death of Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is the first Notre Dame graduate and faculty member to be nominated to serve on the nation’s highest court. Read more here.
A few of Amy's colleagues wrote for various media outlets about their relationship with her.

Carter Snead wrote for the Washington Post, "I’ve known Amy Coney Barrett for 15 years. Liberals have nothing to fear."

Nicole Garnett wrote for USA Today, "I've known Amy Coney Barrett for over 20 years. Her intellect and heart are unrivaled."

Maggie Garnett, Rick and Nicole's daughter, wrote this op-ed published on the Fox News website, "Judge Amy Coney Barrett has shown me how to both live my faith and serve my country"

Rick Garnett wrote for Our Sunday Visitor, "Amy Coney Barrett understands, and embraces, the role and responsibilities of a judge."

Former ND Law Professor John Garvey wrote for the Washington Post, "I taught and worked with Amy Coney Barrett. Here’s what people get wrong about her faith."

Faculty News

On September 18, Mark Telloyan presented two Continuing Legal Education classes for the St. Joseph County Bar Association:  Basics of Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and Basics of Chapter 13 bankruptcy. 
 

The Federalist Society of University of Virginia hosted a panel titled “The Future of Funding for Religious Schools”  in which Stephanie Barclay participated discussing the past and future of religious freedom.
