Good afternoon! The 2019-20 academic year officially begins today at Notre Dame Law School! We wish all of our faculty, staff, and students a wonderful year!

We kicked-off the year with the beautiful installation Mass and reception for Dean Cole. We will conclude our 150th Law School anniversary celebration with festivities in late September! Read about how you can participate below.

Installation Mass and Reception for
Dean Marcus Cole
Dean G. Marcus Cole was officially installed as the Joseph A. Matson Dean and Professor of Law at Notre Dame Law School at a Mass held in the Main Reading Room of the Kresge Law Library on Saturday, August 24. Following the Mass, family, friends, students, faculty, and staff gathered in Eck Commons for a reception.

Notre Dame Law School welcomes
three new professors


Notre Dame Law School will begin the 2019-2020 school year with three new faculty members, including experts in business law, commercial law, and economics. We extend a very warm welcome to Patrick Corrigan, Maria Maciá, and David Waddilove. Read more about them here.

Intensive Trial Advocacy Program receives generous gift from Jim Basile ’86, ’89 J.D.

A generous gift from Kirkland & Ellis partner Jim Basile ’86, ’89 J.D., will enable Notre Dame Law School to bring more outstanding trial attorneys and judges from around the country to Notre Dame to teach in its renowned Intensive Trial Advocacy Program. Read more here.
Celebrate 150 Years of ND Law
Faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to a reception celebrating Notre Dame Law School's sesquicentennial from 6–8 p.m. on Friday, September 27, in the Dahnke Ballroom in Duncan Student Center. A program introducing Dean Marcus Cole to alumni will start at 6:45 p.m.

There is no cost to attend the reception, but registration is required.

The reception is part of the Law School's Homecoming Weekend, which is the weekend that the Fighting Irish host Virginia.

Faculty and staff can also attend the Homecoming Tailgate for free by registering with the code "NDFacStaff" and entering your nd.edu email as the confirmation email address. The space where you enter the code is at the bottom of the "Shopping Cart" screen that appears after you enter your name and the names of any family members attending the tailgate. Make sure you click on the "Apply" button after you enter the code!

Please welcome Carla Siler to the Law School. Carla has replaced Teri as the Law Library administrative assistant and building manager for Biolchini Hall. Carla's husband, Scott, works in OIT. Please stop by 2345 Biolchini to meet Carla and welcome her to the Law School.

We also welcome Kellye Mitros to the Law School as a faculty administrative assistant. She will be working with Professors Bray, Bremer, McKenna, O'Hara, Tidmarsh, and Waddilove and will be the new SSRN staff coordinator. Kellye's office is in 1110 Eck.

Mary Juckett has been hired as a temporary employee and will be working with Professors A.J. Bellia, Tricia Bellia, Bradley, Burstein, Corrigan, Dore, Kozel, McAward, and Maciá. She is located in 3150 Eck.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Lu Ann Nate. Lu Ann's great-granddaughter, Madelyn "Maddy" Nate, passed away unexpectedly on August 14. Please keep the Nate family in your thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.
"Office Hours" with Father Bracke 
 
Father Jim Bracke will be available for counseling or conversation the first Tuesday of every month, from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m., in 3357 Biolchini Hall starting on Tuesday, September 3.
