Professor Rick Garnett is the Speaker for a Hesburgh Lecture in Boston

Boston alumni join Rick Garnett, Paul J. Schierl/Fort Howard Corporation Professor and concurrent professor of political science, Monday, Sept. 26, for a talk titled "Law, Religion, and Politics: Understanding the Separation of Church and State,hosted by Sullivan & Worcester. Paolo Carozza, director of Kellogg Institute, Appointed to Vatican Academy by Pope Francis

Paolo G. Carozza, professor of law, concurrent professor of political science, and director of the Kellogg Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame, has been appointed to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences by Pope Francis.

Professor McKenna Files Amicus Brief in Star Athletica v. Varsity Brands
Mark P. McKenna, professor of law and associate dean for faculty development at Notre Dame Law School, recently filed a friend-of-the court brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in Star Athletica v. Varsity Brands, a case concerning the copyrightability of the design of cheerleading uniforms. The Court will hear arguments in the case this fall.

With the country focused on selecting its next president and on who will replace U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, Notre Dame Law School Professor Randy Kozel's research considers how the Court can establish a continuing identity even as its membership changes.
