Thomas L. Shaffer '61 J.D.

Thomas L. Shaffer, a man who inspired generations of Notre Dame Lawyers as a mentor and legal scholar, passed away on February 26.

Shaffer earned his J.D. from ND Law in 1961 and returned to serve the Law School as a professor, dean, and supervising attorney at the Legal Aid Clinic, now known as the Notre Dame Clinical Law Center.

We will celebrate his life and work on Monday, April 8, with a Mass and reception at the Law School. All are welcome to attend.

This year is Notre Dame Law School's sesquicentennial. We kicked off the celebration with events for students, staff, and faculty during the first week of February.
