Good morning! The new school year starts in one month! There is a lot of news to share about our students, faculty, and alums. Read below to see what has been happening. 
The Latest News
Three new judges have NDLS ties

Gov. Eric Holcomb appointed Double Domer Elizabeth Tavitas '85, '90 J.D. as a judge on the Indiana Court of Appeals. Read about her appointment here.

Adjunct professor Damon R. Leichty was nominated to serve as a federal judge for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. Read more here.

Cristal Brisco, '06 J.D., was sworn in last week as Magistrate for the St. Joseph Circuit Court in South Bend. Read more here.

Lloyd Mayer talks to the New York Times

NDLS students recognized 
 
3L John Karian was awarded a U.S. Department of State Critical Language Scholarship to study critical languages abroad this summer.

3L Katelyn Ringrose and Veronica Canton '18 J.D. were recognized on this year's Fastcase 50 list of legal innovators for their work on Impowerus – an online platform for connecting immigrant youths with pro bono legal services.
 
2L Walter Jean Jacques was named to the Equal Justice Works National Advisory Committee.
