Shared mission leads Cristal Brisco, ’06 J.D., to Saint Mary’s College

Ever since she was in grade school, Cristal Brisco knew she wanted to be a lawyer. She grew up in Gary, Ind., and recalls one of the nuns at her Catholic school saying, “Cristal talks a lot, and she always debates. She should be a lawyer.” As a grade-schooler, Brisco didn’t know what that meant, so her father introduced her to a local attorney. “He described his work as helping people,” said Brisco, ’06 J.D. Adjunct Professor John Gallo to lead Chicago’s largest legal aid organization 

John N. Gallo, an adjunct professor at Notre Dame Law School and a partner at Sidley Austin LLP, has been appointed executive director of LAF, which is the Chicago area’s largest legal aid organization ... “When the opportunity to join LAF presented itself, I recognized immediately that it would allow me to follow my passion to provide a voice for those in need while helping an incredibly deserving organization continue to grow,” said Gallo, who earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1983 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1986. Amazing Attendance at a CLE Hosted by Faegre Baker Daniels and the Notre Dame Lawyers Association of Minnesota

The seminar was titled Making the System Work Addressing Biases and Barriers to Justice in Our Criminal Justice System. The panel featured Jeffrey J.
