Dean Nell Jessup Newton to step down in 2019

Student achievements

Congratulations to 2L Paul George, who won the Tax Notes student writing competition with his entry, "The Human Rights Implications of Corporate Tax Avoidance."

3L Charles Sterrett, has been recognized as a recipient of a 2018 American Bankruptcy Institute Medal of Excellence in Bankruptcy. Top law students from around the nation are recognized through this program, which honors the achievements of law students as selected by deans and bankruptcy law faculty.

Welcome New Employees

Welcome to Beth Smith who joined the Law School as an administrative assistant earlier this month. Beth has over 25 years of experience in the legal field and most recently worked at the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Beth will provide administrative assistance to Professors Veronica Root, Marah McLeod, Roger Alford, Christian Burset, Mary Ellen O'Connell, Sadie Blanchard, and Dan Kelly. If you have not met Beth, please stop by suite 3100 to say hello.

Maggie Tague has joined the admission team as their new assistant director. Maggie may be a familiar face to many of you as she is a 2014 NDLS graduate. She has been practicing at Bordas and Bordas in Wheeling, West Virginia over the past few years. Please stop by office 1331 in Biolchini and welcome her back to Notre Dame!

Remembering Anne

If you did not get a chance to write a memory or note about Anne at the reception, there will be a stack of cards available in the mailroom. Please put your card in Alicia Sachau's mailbox. The cards will be assembled in a memory book for Anne's family.

Wellness Screenings

The Wellness Center is offering health screenings to benefit-eligible faculty and staff who complete a screening by November 2. You will receive an automatic $180 premium credit if you complete a screening. You will receive an additional $96 premium credit if your spouse completes a screening as well.

In addition to earning a credit, benefit-eligible faculty and staff who participate in health screenings will be entered into a weekly raffle to win $400.
