On Friday the University announced the schedule for this year’s commencement ceremonies, including the Law School ceremony.
Law School Ceremony
The Law School Commencement Ceremony will be held on:
- Date: Saturday, May 22
- Time: Noon to 1:30 p.m. EDT
- Location: Frank Eck Baseball Stadium
Faculty: We will share more detailed instructions for the ceremony with you in a future email.
Masks will be required at the Law School ceremony, and physical distancing will be observed. Graduates will be seated 3 feet apart on the baseball field. Guests will be seated in pairs 6 feet apart in the stands. Graduates and guests will have assigned seats.
Family members and friends who are unable to attend the ceremony in person will be able to watch it online.
If there is inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to either the Joyce Center or Compton Family Ice Arena, with in-person attendance by graduates only. Unfortunately, requirements for distanced seating in these indoor venues will not make it possible to accommodate any in-person guests. The ceremony would still be livestreamed and available to watch online.

University Commencement Exercises
The University-wide Commencement Exercises for all graduates will be held on:
- Date: Sunday, May 23
- Time: Commencement Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Commencement Exercises at 11 a.m.
- Location: Notre Dame Stadium
Participation in the Commencement Mass and Commencement Exercises is open to all May 2021 graduates, including law students.
If weather forces the ceremony to be moved indoors to the Joyce Center, the University’s priority will be to seat graduates. Unfortunately, distanced seating in the Joyce Center will not be able to accommodate any in-person guests. The ceremony will still be livestreamed and available to watch online.
