Marcus Cole

We extend a very warm welcome to Marcus and his family as he begins his term as the new Joseph A. Matson Dean of Notre Dame Law School!
ND Lawyer clubs honor Nell

On June 12, the Notre Dame Lawyers of New York City hosted its annual event which served as a farewell to Dean Newton. About 160 Notre Dame lawyers, current students, and admitted students gathered to hear Chris Stewart, '09, '15 JD, a former Notre Dame football player and attorney at White & Case LLP, entertain the crowd with his heartfelt story about how Dean Newton supported him as he fulfilled his dream to play football while earning a law degree from Notre Dame. Several attendees also participated in a CLE, "Religious Freedom and the Ethics of Public Life," presented by Rick Garnett. See photos from the event here.

On June 27, 220 Notre Dame Lawyers, current students, and incoming students gathered in Chicago to honor Dean Newton for her 10 years as dean. The reception included cocktails, great food, and lots of laughs! See photos from the event here.

Professor Peg Brinig receives lifetime achievement award in family law

Congratulations to Peg who received a lifetime achievement award in family law from the Family Law & Policy Program at the University of Illinois College of Law last month. Read more about the award and her work in family law over the years here.

Justices Gorsuch and Alito cite ND Law faculty in Supreme Court opinions

Barry Cushman, Randy Kozel, and Jeff Pojanowski were cited in two U.S. Supreme Court cases on June 26. Read more here

On June 24 the Law School honored and celebrated our six retirees. Congratulations and best wishes to Leslie Berg, Deb Fox, Gloria Krull, Lu Ann Nate, Cathy Roemer, and Terri Welty. Thank you for your years of service to Notre Dame Law School. We will miss you all--please stop by and see us!
