A Big Thank You From the Festival

The festival is over for another year and we want to say a huge thank you to our amazing audiences, talented filmmakers, generous sponsors and partners and everyone involved who helped making the festival possible. We can't wait to welcome you back next year.

And The Winners Are
Grand Jury Award

Depth Two
dir Ongjen Glavonic

Penny Woolcock, Grand Jury Award Chair, said:

‘It was a unanimous decision to give the Grand Jury award to Ognjen Glavonic for Depth Two, which tells a complex and horrifying story in a truly compelling way. It’s hard to describe the experience of watching this film  - at one level it’s a forensic telling of a dreadful story that gradually reveals its secrets, while simultaneously creating a space for reflecting on universal themes of violence and complicity.’
Emerging International Filmmaker Award

Roundabout in my Head
dir Hassen Ferhani

Emerging International Filmmaker Jury Chair Lucien Castaing-Taylor  said of their winner:

‘Roundabout in My Head impressed us with its delicacy, restraint, and formal control, as well as the symbiosis between filmmaker, subject and place. These qualities of approach to subject matter were delivered through strong composition: colour, framing, timing. The film has continued to haunt us long after the screening, and offers us different paths of meaning. Hassan Ferhani is an extraordinary new talent, and we’re all intrigued to see what he does next.’
Best UK Short Award

Some Will Forget
