Monday, April 29, 4 p.m., UMBC, Steingraber will deliver a talk on “The Fracking of Rachel Carson: Silent Spring in an Age of Environmental Crisis”. Steingraber is a leader in the anti-fracking movement in New York. Sierra Club has called her "the new Rachel Carson." Speaker and event info here. Note: Steingraber has been sentenced to 15 days in jail for blocking the entrance to a natural gas facility near her home in New York, so this even might be postponed yet again.
