An Explosion of Fracking and the TPP
If you missed the panel in Ellicott City on July 9, you have another opportunity to find out why you should be concerned about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). This nightmarish free-trade agreement being negotiated in secret would override environmental, health and safety laws and encourage/exacerbate fracking. Check out our web page about this issue. Fracking BMPs: Maryland has released draft best management practices (BMPs) for fracking in our state. Submit comments by Aug. 9. The report is here. Info here, here and here.  Email comments to Marcellus.Advisory@maryland.gov or send these comments.

Compressor station: Myersville Citizens for a Rural Community (MCRC) is raising money to appeal FERC approval for a compressor station in their town for fracked natural gas.
