Let's keep fracking
out of Maryland

 #DontFrackMD

Time to speak up: The Maryland Department of the Environment is holding three public meetings, including one in Baltimore, to discuss regulations for fracking in our state. Rallies are planned before each meeting so we can say clearly that no amount of regulations can make fracking safe. Please attend at least one:

Wednesday, June 22, 6 - 8 p.m.
Continuing Education Building,12401 Willowbrook Road
Allegany College, Cumberland
 Rally starts at 5:30 p.m.

Monday, June 27, 6 - 8 p.m.
MDE Headquarters
1800 Washington Blvd, Baltimore
 Rally starts at 5:30 p.m.
To carpool to this event, email hococlimatechange@gmail.com

Wednesday, June 29, 6 - 8 p.m.
687 Mosser Road, Auditorium (Room 715)
Garrett College, McHenry

Before the first meeting, MDE has said it will release issue papers about topics that generated the most interest in the proposed regulations released in January 2015. Each issue paper includes the department’s suggestions for revising the requirements generated by the O'Malley administration.

This month, the Maryland chapter of Sierra Club and Chesapeake Climate Action Network joined others in called for a statewide ban on fracking. A Sierra Club fracking ban kick-off event in Ellicott City is Saturday, July 9.

Research on fracking continues to point to unacceptable hazards:
HoCo Climate Change is part of a coalition of more than 70 groups calling for a ban on fracking in our state. Please join this campaign to keep fracking out of our state. Details here
