Cove Point Just Got a Key Approval
Federal regulators found no "significant" problems with Dominion's $3.8 billion climate-polluting facility for liquefying and exporting fracked gas.
We need your help:
Thursday, May 22, noon: Activists will visit the local offices of Senators Cardin and Mikulski to demand the most thorough review for Cove Point — an environmental impact statement. Please join us at noon at Senator Cardin's office in Bowie. Details here.
Saturday, May 31, 1 - 6 p.m.: FERC has agreed to hold one public meeting about Cove Point, in Lusby in Calvert County. Please attend and speak out. Also, please write Sens. Cardin and Mikulski TODAY to urge them to keep fighting for statewide public hearings about this threat.
Sunday, July 13: Rally and March to Stop Fracked Gas Exports - Stop Cove Point! Thousands of activists from around the region will march to FERC headquarters in Washington, DC. Speakers include Mike Tidwell and Sandra Steingraber.
Email HoCoClimateChange@gmail.com to carpool  to any of these events. More details on Cove Point here.
