The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is locking us into an economy fired on fracked gas. This largely unknown and unfettered federal agency is rubber-stamping approvals for compressor stations, pipelines and export facilities in our communities. It routinely ignores local opposition, including in Myersville and Cove Point. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. calls it a rogue agency.
We urge YOU to tell FERC that its actions are dividing our communities, wrecking our climate, and damaging our health, land, air and waterFrom May 21 - 29,  Beyond Extreme Energy is heading back to the FERC building on First Street in Washington. Please consider going to FERC for a day or more. Some people will risk arrest; others won't. That's up to you. Some days have themes
  • No LNG exports,Tuesday, May 26
  • Witness Wednesday, faith communities, May 27
  • Divest Thursday with students, May 28
  • Fracking Friday, May 29
FERC says its mission is to provide safe, efficient, sustainable energy for the country. It is failing on all counts. Don't miss out on this chance to work with people around the country trying to get beyond extreme energy. Come for a day or every day. Sign up here. As Mark Ruffalo recently told graduates, this is the time to "be misbehaved. Buck the system. Fight for what you believe in." We're sure he didn't mean just graduates.
