Stop the Incinerator Rally
Tuesday, Dec. 15, 4 p.m.
Maryland Dept. of the Environment
1800 Washington Blvd, Baltimore, 21230
The fight to stop the incinerator near Curtis Bay is far from over. Even though Baltimore City and 22 other public entities have withdrawn support for the project, Energy Answers plans to start construction in 2016. Many in the community, led by the #FreeYourVoice students of United Workers, have worked to develop positive alternatives. The state permits have expired. We are calling on MDE to act on the facts, enforce the law and rescind the permits.
Please sign the petition here calling on MDE to rescind the incinerator permits.
Updates on incinerator  here and here.

Coalition calls for ban on fracking in Maryland
HoCo Climate Change is part of a coalition of 70 groups that is calling for a ban on fracking in our state. Maryland's fracking moratorium will expire in October 2017, and fracking regulations are to be written by October 2016. The coalition, points to fracking's many harms, including to climate, health, water, food and the economy. This month, Gov. Hogan was in Western Maryland, where fracktivists greeted him at every turn (see photos below). Please join this campaign to keep fracking out of our state. Campaign details here.
