CPO concerts live now on FMR!

Fine Music Radio and the Cape Town Philharmonic are delighted to announce that all CPO City Hall concerts in the 10th International Summer Music Festival will be broadcast live on FMR, starting this Thursday.
Thanks to the SABC’s Radio Sonder Grense (RSG), which records all CPO concerts for later broadcast, and sponsor Visagie Vos Attorneys, this relationship will make it possible for people unable to get to the City Hall to hear and feel the frisson that comes from being in the concert hall. This includes those unable to get tickets to any concerts in the coming season the concert, for several of the concerts are close to sold out.
Both organizations see huge benefits for lovers of classical music.  Says Mark Jennings, manager of FMR, “Live broadcasts bring us even closer to our listeners and strengthen our presence in all communities.  This is also an historical milestone in the history of the CPO and FMR.”
The CEO of the CPO, Louis Heyneman, agrees. “Using radio to its fullest potential will make concerts accessible to people unable to come to the City Hall . FMR’s reach through the web will also allow our international fan base to tune in while overseas. One of our main aims is to create a stimulating and dynamic orchestra culture in Cape Town and this creates a lot of awareness. ”
Veteran broadcaster and classical music expert Rodney Trudgeon, while still doing his pre-concerts talks in the City Hall, will host the series.
Fine Music Radio can be heard on the following frequencies: 101.3 FM in the Greater Cape Town Area, 94.7 FM in Hout Bay, 97.1 along the Atlantic Seaboard and on 107.9 in the Fish Hoek Valley. Audio streaming is becoming increasingly popular and can be accessed via the FMR website – www.fmr.co.za
