ComixTribe Announces SCAMthology
Eisma, Pitarra, McCool & More to Expand Mulvey's SCAM Universe!
August 3, 2013 -- Boston, MA -- At this weekend's Boston Comic Comic, ComixTribe announced SCAMthology, a new project expanding Joe Mulvey's SCAM universe, featuring top and up-and-coming comic talent telling thirteen new stories featuring super-powered conmen taking Vegas for all she's worth.
"Working on SCAM and getting it into so many readers' hands has been a dream come true," said Mulvey. "I'm lucky, grateful, and honored to having so many talented creators jumping into the SCAM universe."
"It was clear from the very first issue of SCAM that Joe wasn't just telling a story...he was creating a whole universe of characters," said ComixTribe publisher Tyler James, who is partnering up with Jonathan Rector (THE STANDARD) on a SCAMthology story. "Heists, superpowers and Vegas, baby, Vegas...who wouldn't want to play in that sandbox?"
The full roster of SCAMthology creators includes Joe Eisma (Morning Glories), Ben McCool (Choker, Lookouts), Nick Pitarra (The Manhattan Projects), Paul Allor (Orc Girl), Brian Shearer (Transformers, Doctor Who), Tyler James (THE RED TEN), Adam Masterman
(Echo Callaway), Rich Douek (Gutter Magic), Daniel Logan (Ghost Town), John Lees (The Standard), Doug Hills (Dixon's Notch), Aaron Houston (Clockwork), Kirk Manley (Z-Girl and the 4 Tigers), Josh Flanagan (Dixon's Notch), Alex Diotto (Southern Dog), Jonathan Rector (The Standard), Jamie Gambell (Department O), Amy Chu (Girl's Night Out), Nolan T. Jones (Colonial Souls), Steve Colle (SCAM), Ryan K Lindsay (Ghost Town), Alex Cormack (Oxymoron), Steve Forbes (Runners), and Daniel Picciotto (Mercer).
"Editing thirteen distinctive creative teams, all tasked with developing the SCAM mythos, has been the biggest job I've ever done in my quarter century in this industry, but it's also been the most gratifying," said SCAMthology editor and contributor Steve Colle. "Where else could I have worked with over two dozen of the future's brightest creators on one mega-project?!"
The first four-issue SCAM mini-series concludes this November with a double-sized final issue, and SCAMthology will follow directly after. ComixTribe has created a special SCAMthology Tumblr Page that will feature frequent teasers and more details about the project over the next few months. SCAMthology is set to be released in early 2014.
