As a team, we’re always on the road meeting and collaborating with our community. Most recently, we were at the CCSSO EIMAC conference in Arizona where we explored in-depth technical issues and presented to the conference on the value of data standards.
As we finalize the school year and prepare for summer vacations, I want to remind our community to save the date for our annual Ed-Fi Bootcamp & Summit in Austin this October. This user conference brings together hundreds of education and technology leaders; both long-time Ed-Fi users and folks wanting more information about what Ed-Fi can do for their state or district. We know that you want to hear directly from your peers at the Summit, so again this year we’re working with you, our community, to shape the Summit agenda. If you have a success story to share, an innovative idea or simply a question you want to discuss, then we invite you to submit a session abstract so that we can ensure your time spent at the Summit is valuable and relevant for you and the entire Ed-Fi Community.

There are two more weeks to submit an abstract, so don't delay and submit your session here. I’m looking forward to hearing your story and seeing you in the fall – if not sooner!
- Troy

On the Road to Interoperability with Denver Public Schools
As part of Getting Smart’s ongoing EdSurge series on interoperability, this article discussed how Denver Public Schools (DPS), Colorado’s largest school district, has implemented interoperability initiatives in its schools. Josh Allen, Director of IT for the district, says DPS would benefit greatly from improved interoperability due to its sheer size, and, in an effort to do so, has partnered with organizations like Ed-Fi so that schools can access and benefit from student data.

Interoperability Standards for Education
This primer, published by the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), is intended to help schools overcome interoperability hurdles by outlining why interoperability matters in K-12 education. The primer, designed for non-technical leaders, focused on several key areas of interoperability standards, including data integration and data connectivity.
