See you Saturday? Here are 5 things you'll want to remember
How to make the most of your September 27 Open House visit
We're looking forward to seeing you this Saturday September 27 for our annual Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District Open House. But we've added a few details you might want to know if you want to get the most out of this unique experience. Here's our top 5.
|
|
5. Be early.
We're expecting close to 400 guests (huzzah!) and the tour buses are filled on a first-come first-served basis. We'll open our activities at 9:00, and the tours will begin between 9 and 10. Even if you arrive early, your tour slot may be scheduled later in the morning. But fear not, we'll have plenty to keep you busy, including exhibits from Greater Cleveland Aquarium (weather permitting, but signs are good), Cleveland Metroparks, and the Great Lakes Science Center. Our last plant tour departs at 1:00, and later tours are always packed.

4. Dress accordingly.
Keep in mind this is a working wastewater treatment plant, with all the sights and smells you might expect. If you're touring, we tell guests no open-toed shoes, and we recommend hard-soled shoes or boots. If you want an idea of what you'll see, here's a glimpse at a previous Open House tour.

3. Have old meds or mercury thermometers at home? Bring them with you for a safe-disposal drop-off.
We're featuring two special collections at this year's event to help you keep your family safe. Bring any outdated or unused medications at home and we'll collect them for safe and proper disposal (thanks to National Drug Take Back Day). And if you have an old mercury thermometer (mercury can be hazardous if the thermometer breaks at home), we'll trade you for a free digital thermometer. Bonus!

2. Participate for a chance to win.
PHOTO CONTEST: Since you signed up using our online form, you've already got a chance to win a cool prize. But be social on Saturday and you could win again: We'll give a prize pack to three guests who tweet, instagram or Facebook their best photos using the hashtag #neorsdTOUR.
CHECKLIST CHALLENGE: Be sure to grab one of our Checklist Challenge postcards, too. Visit 6 of our attractions and you'll be eligible to win a prize pack of special-event tickets and t-shirts.

1. Have fun.
We love guests, and the Open House is a great opportunity to welcome our customers in a very special way. Play games, take a tour, make slime (yes, slime), test water samples, and so much more. This is your event. We look forward to seeing you, your family, and friends. If you have any questions, let us know.
