Stop the Plastic Oil Spill!
Give today for a better 2017.
Child gazing out over our beautiful Port Phillip Bay.

Dear Eco Champ
They're tricky to spot when we swim, surf and sail, but microplastics and nurdles are clogging up our precious Port Phillip Bay and threatening our wildlife. Melbourne's beautiful waterways are home to more endemic species than the Great Barrier Reef ... but steadily becoming a contaminated soup of single-use plastic particles.

Plastic is pervasive, persistent, polluting and poisonous in our Bay and food chain.

Our Bay has a voice through your Port Phillip Baykeeper Neil Blake OAM.

Since 2009, the Baykeeper team partners with community, government, researchers, schools and business. Collectively we protect our Bay, our waterways, wildlife and neighbours. We stand alongside worldwide Waterkeepers for swimmable, drinkable, fishable waters. We gather solid data to guide planning, train young people to protect Bay habitat, and ensure everyday decisions in our 'burbs positively impact the Bay.

Your gift helps the Baykeeper unclog our Bay
Our plan includes positive interventions with industry, consumers, and legislators. We work to directly remove litter AND trace it backwards to stop it at the source.

2017 is an important year for Port Phillip Baykeeper's lifesaving work as government authorities set new forward commitments for our Bay and healthy waterways.

We wouldn't tolerate an oil spill, so why do we allow plasticised-oil to choke our ecosystems? Your gift will support a range of Baykeeper initiatives.

$100 worth of nurdles!

$100 funds your Baykeeper Neil Blake to empower community and fight microplastics.

1000 donations would cover Neil's invaluable program! (Over 19 000 people participated in EcoCentre programs last year.)
Gio 'nests' in his nestbox designed for Tawny Frogmouths.

$25 funds your Wildlife Ambassador Gio Fitzpatrick to engage all generations protecting urban wildlife.

We need $27,500 to fund Gio's part time role at the EcoCentre. This will keep our award-winning, Sir-Attenborough-endorsed Nature Warrior researching urban wildlife and sharing stories with kids of all ages.
Little Penguin dreams of flying.

$10 protects our iconic Little Penguins.

Our corporate volunteers and young activists build habitat to keep St Kilda's penguin colony strong, and save them from erosion. Along with Earthcare, we clear litter before it threatens vulnerable chicks.

Or donate what you can.

Wishing you a joyful, restorative holiday week including time in our beautiful Bay!
