Rugby Fun Day! (29th Aug)
An afternoon session of Rugby was organised at King's Park for our younger members, as part of Enlighten's 'Tackling Epilepsy' programme, which was launched early  June this year to raise epilepsy awareness among the city’s youth and encourage children with well-controlled epilepsy to participate in sports.  Most of the 28 Enlighten members who joined experienced playing rugby for the first time and were extremely eager and quick to learn the basics. It was a beautiful afternoon thoroughly enjoyed by all and the children are very keen  to get on to the field again!

The Tackling Epilepsy campaign not only encourages people with epilepsy to participate in physcial sports, but also draws focus on the importance of performance and achievement  in the sports field or also in the business environment. This campaign is being run with the total support of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union.

Recap- LotArt: Hong Kong's first ever art lottery in support of Enlighten. (26th Sep)
Enlighten-Action for Epilepsy organised the first ever ‘art lottery event’ in Hong Kong thanks to the generosity and support of various emerging artists from Hong Kong (and some from other parts of the world including Mexico, Vietnam etc.), who came together and donated over 100 pieces of artwork to make the event happen.  The event was planned to unite the emerging artist and art lovers and to support those affected by epilepsy in Hong Kong.

All the artworks were showcased at the HK Maritime Museum on Thursday, 26th September and it was exciting to see the LotArt ‘Artwork ticket ‘holders mingle with the artists to understand more about the artworks on display, short-list their choices and excitedly choose the artwork of choice to take home (and pose with the artist and artwork).
The 'Guest ticket' holders too enjoyed the evening with some of the attendees opting to upgrade to "Artwork tickets" after seeing the featured works, while others preferred to enjoy the displayed art, mingle with artists, taste the canapés and have an enjoyable evening.

Our main sponsor of the evening was Pure Art Foundation, a Hong Kong based non-profit grant giving organisation that believes that a vibrant art scene is crucial to keeping the amazing energy of HK alive and buzzing. We are hugely grateful to Pure Art Foundation, Go Gourmet, SCAD, Kronenbourg and Hong Kong Maritime Museum for their support.
It was a wonderful evening thoroughly enjoyed by all the stakeholders including the emerging artists, the event attendees, the sponsors and supporters. Given the positive response that we received for this brand new concept from the Hong Kong community, Enlighten is now looking ahead to our next LotArt event on March 6, 2014 timed to epilepsy awareness month and our main campaign ‘Paint the Town Purple.’

We seek your continued support to help us spread the word, which is essential to the success of every new event. Being a small charity, we lack a huge marketing budget and cannot envisage taking this event to the next level without your backing.

此活動的主要贊助單位Pure Art Foundation相信,透過藝術可以令整個城市更具活力。在此衷心感謝Pure Art Foundation, Go Gourmet, SCAD, Kronenbourg 及香港海事博物館的大力支持。
