Hello from Havana!
The second week of our Summer Cuba Dance Study Trip is going really well. We started in Santiago, where Ryan performed with the All Stars in the Fiesta del Fuego's closing parade. In Havana yesterday we saw some classic Son Montuno with Conjunto Arsenio Rodriguez. Tonight we're heading to La Tropical for a special Adalberto concert dedicated to dancers, and then tomorrow we perform at Chévere (the new Mil Ocho) before a concert with Pupy y Los Que Son Son.
As usual we’ve learned lots of great new moves from Companía that we’ll be bringing back to the Bay Area — our Cuba Review Workshops are Saturday, July 20th in Oakland at The Working Body (click here to get the pre-registration discount).
Alex will be teaching Level 3 and 4 together, Michael will be teaching Level 2, and Rodrigo will be teaching Level 1 for RCR's Friday Cuban Salsa & Rueda Classes at ODC tonight. Alex will be teaching the Salsa Sunday 2:30 and 3:30pm Rueda classes, but there will NOT be a workout this weekend (back next Sunday, 7/21).
Ryan will be back and teaching (Level 4) at our Monday Oakland Classes on July 15th, along with Alex (Level 3), Laura (Level 2), Bret (Level 1 @ 7:30), and John (Level 1 @ 8:45).
We ARE still planning on leading a Cuba Dance Study Trip in December. Stay tuned for more details.
