Storm Henri - Update From Town Of Southold
Shelters in Peconic and Orient Open
 
 

This morning's advisories show the path of Tropical Storm Henri now moving east of Long Island with increased speeds. This means projected winds of 30-40 mph with gusts to 60 mph, 3-6 inches of rain and tidal surge levels to be 3-4 feet inundation. High tides are expected to be at appx. 11:00 am  this morning and residents should be aware of local flooding conditions.
 

At this time, Southold Town has opened two shelters for residents wanting to evacuate- the Southold Community Center on Peconic Lane, Peconic and the Oysterponds School on Rt. 25 in Orient.
