Upcoming

1. Elsewhere hosts Greensboro PICNIC on First Friday, May 3, from 6pm to 10pm at Elsewhere (606 S. Elm Street, Greensboro). PICNIC--Partners In City, Neighbors In Community--is a public supper in downtown Greensboro where neighbors dine together and give together. PICNIC-goers pay $5-$20 (sliding scale) and enjoy a locally-sourced meal and an opportunity to fund a worthy project voted on by attendees. The winning proposal will receive the proceeds of the dinner right then and there! As an open platform for funding local projects through dinner conversations, Greensboro's PICNIC is part of a national network of suppers encouraging neighbors to fund communities.

Dinner begins at 6pm. Project Presentations at 7pm. Voting Closes at 8pm followed shortly by the announcement of the winning project.

Read the creative storytelling proposals and prepare to cast your vote.

PICNIC is a collaboration with Greensboro Participatory Budgeting and is seeded by a grant from Building Stronger Neighborhoods

2. Elsewhere will gather with StoryBank community partner, Faith Action International, on Saturday, May 4, at 5pm for the Downtown Greensboro Unity Walk for Immigration Reform kicking-off at Faith Action International House (705 N. Greene Street, Greensboro). The 1/2 mile walk to Governmental Plaza (110 S. Greene Street) will begin at 5:30.

From 6pm til 7:30pm hear from diverse speakers and performers from Greensboro's immigrant business, religious, and artistic community. Elsewhere will be collecting stories for the StoryBank with the mobile StoryTeller and photo essays of the "4 statements of political purpose" to be compiled into a photo booklet to send to legislators.

Learn about more ways you can connect and take action with FaithAction.

3. Join synerG Young Professionals at Elsewhere for the May On Tap Event. This special edition of synerG On Tap offers a unique introduction or re-introduction to the museum and as they say, drinks are you and connections are on us.

The event is free to attend. Grab a Story Tour for $5.
