Queerin' it up! #OUTerSpace

As LGBTQ+ folks living in 2016, our human experiences can often feel extraterrestrial...

I Don't Do Boxes, an independent magazine for and by queer youth is seeking submissions for our 4th volume: #OUTerSpace. We’re looking for stories, images, videos, poems, art of all sorts, etc., exploring LGBTQ+ experiences in the Southeast and beyond. Submission deadline: November 1st, 2016. This issue will be published on December 9th.

Visit idontdoboxes.org/submit for more info! Still taking editors for our staff- meetings every Thursday 5-7pm at Elsewhere!

OFFSITE QUEERLAB EVENT: Saturday, October 22nd | at the Cultural Arts Center studio 323 (200 N Davie St.) | 3-5pm | "Moving Through Space"

For the 2nd QueerLab #OUTerSpace workshop, Greensboro-based dance instructor and choreographer Milanda McGinnis will lead a dance-based class in a professional studio that explores movement and occupying space in collaboration with North Carolina Dance Project.

This body-positive dance class will be all about self-affirmation, disrupting alienation, and basking in revolutionary love. Be here and be queer! RSVP here.

This event is open and free to queers of all ages and LGBTQ+ allies. Please be prepared to center the needs and narratives of queer youth (ex. using correct pronouns!). For accessibility questions please contact iddb@goelsewhere.org.

Interested in submitting to I Don't Do Boxes or joining the Editing Team? Email submissions, questions, and resumes to iddb@goelsewhere.org!

(Autonomous queer space. All ages welcome and expected to center the needs of queer youth.)

QueerLab is funded in part by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and working in collaboration with the North Carolina Dance Project.
