For the Cub Scouts: It’s time to talk about Blue + Gold Ceremonies! Join us in a discussion about what this ceremony may look like in 2021 and ways to make it memorable.

For the ScoutsBSA: Do you want your youth to step up and become the leaders you want them to be? There are a number of District, Council, and National training courses your youth (and your leaders) can participate in to deliver on the goal of building tomorrow's leaders.

The purpose of the Introduction to Leadership Skills courses is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to reach success most effectively in that role. To understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. An Introduction to Leadership Skills course is the first step in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts, and is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). It is also required to participate in a Kodiak Challenge Trek. Our guest speaker, Don Wurth, will be diving into this topic a little more in a couple weeks! This topic is open to those older Scouts wanting to learn more as well!

District Highlights

This portion of the newsletter is to act as a cheers for peers section to say “way to go!” to different units doing incredible things for the community. It’s impossible to highlight all the things you are doing, but we want to try. For this newsletter, we want to highlight Pack 8039.

Some may not know this, but the Collinsville Food Pantry has actually been closed in terms of accepting food donations due to the safety of their volunteers. We’re well past Scouting for Food but that didn’t stop Pack 39 from finding a way to make sure this pantry had the means to support the community! The Pack was able to collect $1,542 for the Collinsville Food Pantry, a separate effort from the Scouting for Food weekends! Thank you Pack 39 and thank you to everyone that helped make this fundraiser a success.
