Trump Rally a Money-maker for Times Union Center, County

Trump's rally drew more than 15,000 to the arena, with just a few days notice over the weekend since the event wasn't confirmed until Friday evening. The venue had to go from hosting an Albany Devils hockey match Sunday night to a stage and open floor in less than a day. $7M Loan Will Finance Downtown Apartment Project

A $7.3 million loan from the Community Preservation Corp. will finance the conversion of a building in downtown Albany at 20 Park Street into 73 upscale apartments. Learn more.

Albany Convention Center Opening Date Announced

The new downtown convention center will open March 22 next year with a statewide social studies convention, officials announced. So far, the Albany Capital Center, the 80,000-square-foot convention hall rising off Eagle Street, has booked five events, with 92 others in the pipeline with dates saved. Learn more.

For the second time in the last three seasons, the Albany Devils are heading to the Calder Cup Playoffs. Presale tickets, starting at $12, are available now for Games 1 and 2 at the Times Union Center. Purchase tickets.

Devils Extend Lease with Times Union Center

Albany County and SMG, management company of Times Union Center, announced this month that they have come to an agreement with the New Jersey Devils, extending the lease for the AHL affiliate, the Albany Devils through the 2018-2019 season.  Learn more.

Albany Center Gallery Announces Next Exhibit

From May 6 – June 12, 2016, Albany Center Gallery will present the 2016 Mohawk Hudson Regional Invitational, which features the work of acclaimed regional artists Fern Apfel, Jess Ayotte, Roger Bisbing and Thomas Huber. CDTA Receives Increased Funding in State Budget

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will receive an additional $1.8 million in State Transit Operating Assistance (STOA) as part of the 2016-17 New York State Budget. The addition brings CDTA’s STOA funding package to $35.7 million. An additional $3.6 million will be provided to support Capital needs in fiscal year 2017. Learn more.
